Saki, Geishas and Me

In 2007 my good friend John, who has been living in Japan for around 7 years, flew me to Tokyo to photograph his wedding. After the wedding we visited Kyoto for a few days and that's where I snapped this amazing Geisha. We both took each other by complete surprise, like a pair of startled deers. Its kinda funny because you hear them before you actually see them. They wear these wonderful wooden clogs that sound like horses hooves on cobble stone. I was like a game hunter. For two hours I walked the back alleys of Kyoto, camera at the ready listening out for their clogs.. a special moment
